Energy Consumption
We are dedicated to reducing our energy consumption and committed to growing our use of sustainable energy sources.
As with recycled aluminium, we're now taking the same approach with stainless steel. In 2024, we began transitioning to recycled stainless steel (RCS) for our product bodies, phasing it in gradually as existing inventory sold through and new materials were reordered.
As of 2025, we now use RCS exclusively for Haptiq and CTX. The impact is substantial – recycled stainless steel reduces emissions by more than 80% compared to virgin stainless steel production.
Based on our 2024 production volumes alone, this change is projected to eliminate over 650 tons of CO₂e annually just from bodies, making it our single largest emission reduction initiative to date.

And we're not stopping there. As current stocks clear, we're expanding RCS to additional product lines including Fusion 5, STS, TO GO, plus handles and lids, with full integration expected in our 2026 reporting.
Like our recycled aluminum, recycled stainless steel delivers the same strength, durability, and cooking performance you expect from Scanpan, proving once again that we don't have to choose between uncompromising quality and responsible production.

Recycled aluminum creates less waste and requires significantly less energy to produce than extracting virgin aluminum.
