Energy Consumption

Scanpan's cast aluminum lines are made with a recycled aluminum core, something we're proud to say we've been doing since the first day we started making cookware.
In the beginning, our pans were cast from recycled metal scraps from World War II. Today, our recycled aluminium alloy is sourced from facilities in Norway and Sweden, who recycle scrap metals from soda cans, license plates, and other aluminum products that would otherwise end up in a landfill. 100% of the aluminum in our cookware is recycled.
Our products are made from anywhere between 92-96% recycled metal on average. To ensure optimal heat distribution and consistent high quality, a limited amount of virgin metal is added during the melting process to achieve the correct alloy.
Recycled aluminum creates less waste and requires significantly less energy to produce than extracting virgin aluminum from the earth, reducing the overall use of resources.
