Scanpan non-stick coating in brief:
Over the years, the experts at our factory in Ryomgård have come up with two different non-stick coatings, which we now use on all our non-stick products.
Most damage to a non-stick coating occurs due to overheating. This will reduce the non-stick effect over time. Read more here or watch the video further down the page to see how to get the most out of your non-stick product.
Before first use: Remove all stickers. Wash the product in warm, soapy water with a nylon brush, cloth or sponge and wipe it dry.
In use: The product should only be used for preparing and serving food. Take care not to overheat the product, as this will reduce the non-stick effect.

Incorrect cleaning may also cause damage to your non-stick product. Watch the video further down the page or read the guide here for proper cleaning and maintenance.
You can wash your non-stick products in the dishwasher. However, it is not recommended as it shortens the life of the product.
You do not need to use a lot of elbow grease or strong cleaning agents if your cookware is burnt.
The following is not a complete list of cleaning methods, but it offers some alternatives that do not require expensive equipment – or at worst, a new pot.
Detergent (for clothes):
Dishwasher detergent (for dishwashing machine): Dishwasher detergent (tablets or powder) for the dishwashing machine is stronger than regular detergents and you may therefore find that dishwasher tablets can dissolve food residues that normal detergent cannot get rid of.
